Veteran nursing officer and Montgomery County native Leah Boone Howard opens up about her spiritual approach to life.
For over 20 years, Leah Boone Howard has worked tirelessly in the healthcare sector both in the U.S. and overseas. Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, and now a resident of Spring, Texas, Howard offers a unique insight into her lifelong focus on spirituality and its rewards.
“Spirituality has always been extremely important to me,” explains Leah Boone Howard, speaking from her home in Greater Houston, Texas. Howard was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, and has since dedicated more than two decades of her life to her work within medicine.
Spirituality is defined as an inherent quality wherein an individual is expressly concerned with the human soul or spirit. This is said to be especially true where opposed to material or other physical things.
Montgomery County native Leah Boone Howard credits her spiritual nature with allowing her to fully embrace her long and varied medical career. Currently employed by a major hospital affiliation as a chief nursing officer within the field of acute rehab, Leah recently marked her twentieth year in healthcare.
During this time, the nursing officer has completed three tours with Doctors Without Borders and achieved an array of other incredible accomplishments in her career as a medical professional.
Howard credits a good degree of her success with her commitment to spirituality and self-improvement, as well as health and fitness more generally. “Spirituality, in particular, has helped me throughout life, most notably in regards to well-being and finding inner peace,” says Leah.

“I’d like to consider myself to be extremely well-rounded as a result,” adds Howard, “and trust in my heart that others would say the same of me, too.”
